Thanks for reading.

naked slider

with 9 comments

Nope, not going to do add a treatment to the sliding patio doors. Well, not with any of the ugly options out there. I much rather leave it naked than do something like this. Ick.
what to do about the slider?
…and, man oh man, how much am I loving these shades?!
shades
The shades offer great privacy during the day while letting the sun in. At night, I draw the curtains on the bedrooms. The house feels like it is really starting to come together. Who knew that window treatments would make such a difference?

play
The playroom treatments (you can get yours here) have arrived. These are sturdy quality treatments for very little money and super easy install too. I like them so much that I’ll be ordering similar ones for the living room (and the same for the guest room and Son’s room).

…and a shot from brunch today with my college besties. I love you, M & M. Thanks for the visit!

My realtor is better than your realtor.

with 3 comments

If you are looking for the most attentive and professional realtor in the East Bay, call Teresa Chenyek. This woman kicks ass. She knows her business, truly wants you to get the house you want and listens! A realtor who listens. Seriously. And, even now, months after she has closed the deal, she continues to be a support for me. Who can say they love their realtor?! Well, I do.

I heart my realtor.

I really should have started this blog with a Teresa rave…she deserves all the credit for getting us into our pleasant hous

printable party

You purchase the pdf folders, the vendor emails them and you download and print them off on your home computer. What could be easier? Daughter’s cupcake decorations came from Parties by Hardie. $25 gets you a personalized party pack with more stuff than you will even get a chance to use. I used maybe 1/3 of the printables in my pack. I highly recommend this product for birthdays, showers, anytime! Oh and you even get personalized thank you notes and return address labels. Too cute.

p.s. Here’s a free princess party decoration kit available for download. It is not personalized, but still sure to make your little princess’s party a magical one.

swing recommendation

with 2 comments

I like Ikea. I know it’s not the best quality stuff out there, but it works for my needs and the snacks are so yum! These swings are a perfect example of why Ikea makes me happy. So, yes, I guess moving to the ‘burbs means we’ll someday fill our lovely yard with a behemoth play structure. However, because this idea repulses me and intrigues me at the same time, it probably won’t happen for many more months. Well, enter these cute swings from Ikea ($14.99 per swing and a few more bucks for the hardware) and I start imagining *myself* swinging on them! I don’t think they’ll hold off the kids for good, but aren’t they just darling in the meanwhile? And, even after we get the structure, they will be perfect for rainy days since they’re hung from the covered deck. No waste.

Husband spent this morning at the hardware store and got to installing this afternoon while I mowed our lawn with a push mower. Good lord, that was the toughest thing ever. My body will not be happy with me when I wake up sore tomorrow. You can even catch a glimpse of it in the video. Oops.

Husband rates the difficulty of the installation at a 4 (on a scale of 1-10, 10 being most difficult).

update: both are swings up!
more swinging
We hung Son’s swing a bit lower than Daughter’s swing so both kids can easily touch the floor.
