playroom remix

with 5 comments

I moved the chair into the playroom, reworked the layout and added the mirror.

Even though there is more “stuff” in the room, it flows better and looks bigger because the mirror reflects the mountain view and brings in more light. Once the kids outgrow the train table, I can put in a large low coffee table for crafts and add poufs to sit on.

drapes and rods, rods and drapes.

with 2 comments

I bought “bleached” drapes and rods for the master bedroom and was planning on blogging about them once the room was painted (maybe next weekend?)…in the meanwhile, I bought another set, err two sets, for the playroom. I had a crazy weekend with three birthday parties and didn’t get a chance to do any house stuff so I wanted to share these drapes tonight, even with the artificial light.

drapes rods

p.s. Sarah Jessica Parker has them up in her bedroom too. Who knew?

and the following morning…I like having the option of darkening the playroom. It will be especially useful after a rough night of tossing and turning (me or the kids).

Also wanted to mention that the length I needed was 146″, so I bought two 79″ rods and used my hack saw (!!!) to cut each rod down to 73″. The hardware provided does a great job of hiding the seam and holding it tight.

The playroom treatments (you can get yours here) have arrived. These are sturdy quality treatments for very little money and super easy install too. I like them so much that I’ll be ordering similar ones for the living room (and the same for the guest room and Son’s room).

…and a shot from brunch today with my college besties. I love you, M & M. Thanks for the visit!

small pillow, big impact.

You can get it here. I had a $10 credit for writing a review and also had free shipping. If different animal options were available, I’d happily order another and pay full price.

Oh, it’s sold out, but maybe it will come back? That has been known to happen on Overstock.

instant art

with one comment

The art wall is now complete with lines on top and board below. Best thing is the art changes often to reflect recent discoveries and new favorite things.

We used 8 drywall screws + anchors to adhere the board to the wall (2 in each corner). It is not as pretty with the screws, but my kids hang all over everything and I didn’t want it coming down on their heads.

Here’s a reminder of what the white board looked like before we scaled it down.

white board remix

My craigslist white board was taking up way too much space in the playroom, so we changed it up a bit.

you’ll need:

hand saw
